When I draw goldfish, I work on a whole sheet of drawings of fish in different positions. I add little tiny bits to each drawing as the goldfish circle back to the same positions. The goldfish swim slowly but I have to move fast to draw my glimpses of contour and move on to the next little sketch. Children, prospective jurors, dogs and ducklings I draw in the same way.
