I live my everyday life in the center of vacationland. My little house is just blocks from the beach, uphill from the flycasting and model boat clubs in Golden Gate Park, on the edge of the golf course that is wrapped around The Legion of Honor with its fountain and columns. I have always loved seeing people tending to their happiness. It is cheerfully surreal to open my curtains in the morning and see surfers with their boards, golfers in Lincoln Park or supermen on bicycles in the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon.
